Using math concepts, 160 popsicle sticks, Elmer’s glue, and only a limited amount of hot glue, student teams designed and constructed their own bridges. Each group presented their design to the class before the ultimate test—stacking textbooks on top until the bridge could hold no more! 📚💥
Panther Wrestling Update 🤼♀️ 🤼♂️
Coach Huffman, Coach Williamson, and Coach Hutchings recently brought members of both the girls and boys wrestling programs to the Palmyra R-1 School Board Meeting to share about their season and the many benefits of participating in wrestling.
The girls wrapped up their season last weekend at districts in Mexico, and the boys will travel to Higginsville tomorrow and Saturday for their district competition. Good luck Panthers! 🧡🖤

4th grade scientists explored surface tension and chemical reactions as colors swirled and danced across the milk—creating some truly magical moments while learning real science! 🧪🎨
We love seeing our students’ curiosity grow through hands-on experiments and creative discovery. Science Club meets every Wednesday from 3:30–4:30 p.m., and the excitement continues each week! 👩🔬👨🔬🧡🖤

Seven of our talented band members represented PHS at All-Conference Band, where they enjoyed a fantastic rehearsal and performed an amazing concert. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication!
Our students will be part of the Conference Band tour this Wednesday, starting at 8:30 a.m. in Palmyra and then traveling to Holy Rosary and Centralia. 🧡🖤
It was a winning night Thursday for Panther Quiz Bowl at home against South Shelby! 🧠🖤🧡
Coach Hopke and JV earned a 190–20 victory, led by Levi Miller with 6 toss-ups, while Varsity secured a 280–150 win with Matthew Salo also recording 6 toss-ups.
Coach Wellman and our middle school teams brought the energy as well, with the A Team winning 270–50 and the B Team winning 210–60!
The Panthers hit the road Thursday to face Centralia and return home on February 26. Keep the momentum going!

On Wednesday, FCCLA hosted an American Red Cross blood drive, collecting 36 total blood products and welcoming 8 first-time donors. ❤️👏
Today, FCCLA members and Ms. Knoche hosted Music Bingo after school for staff and students, bringing everyone together to enjoy great tunes, laughter, Panther pride, and some superb snacks and drinks! 🎶

While visiting, students met with Representative Louis Riggs, toured the Missouri State Capitol, and gained a firsthand look at government in action. Members also explored the campus of Mizzou and enjoyed lunch on campus with Mr. Frankenbach. 🎓

Love and creativity are in the air in Mrs. Orr’s art classroom this Valentine’s season!
Kindergarten artists explored the work of Pop artist Jim Dine, learning about the recurring themes in his art—especially his famous heart imagery. Students created their own expressive Pop Art hearts inspired by his bold, playful style. ❤️
First grade students studied Jean-Michel Basquiat, focusing on his powerful symbols and recurring imagery, including his iconic crowns used to represent strength, importance, and celebration. Their crowned heart creations beautifully reflect these meaningful ideas. 👑
Third grade artists explored oil pastel blending techniques and color layering while creating vibrant, concentric, tie-dye inspired hearts full of color and creativity. 💜
Mark your calendars, many of these pieces will also be featured in our upcoming Pop Art Glow Show during Night of the Arts on April 20th! ✨
