Our 4th grade PACE students recently participated in the National Geographic Explorer Classroom Wildlife Series!
Students were able to Zoom with National Geographic scientists and complete activities about wildlife! They were selected TWICE to ask questions to the scientists during the live sessions, and clips of their questions were highlighted in the celebration at the end of the series. National Geographic sent the kids stickers and certificates, as well as a cool set of bird playing cards for the classroom.

School Board Candidate filing ended December 30, 2025 at 5 p.m. The Palmyra R-1 Board of Education had three positions open with three-year terms. Those who filed for candidacy are: Incumbents, Jeff Weaver, Doug Meyers, and Leisa Hinkle.
In accordance with law, since the number of candidates who filed is equal to the number of positions available, there will be no election. Candidates will be sworn in at the April Board Meeting.

🎅🦌 Santa & Reindeer Games! 🛷
On our last day before break, kindergarten students stepped into the North Pole for some Santa and Reindeer games! Students took turns rolling a giant snowball across the gym floor in a relay style race.
Giant snowballs have a way of getting out of control, so lots of laughter filled the gym as the kids tried to keep their snowball rolling the right direction! 🎄✨

PES had a jolly morning of caroling with Mrs. Breitling and some very special guests — Mr. and Mrs. Claus! 🎅🤶🎶 Students even discovered it was Santa’s birthday 🎂🎉 and sang their loudest Happy Birthday cheer just for him!
After caroling, students lined up to greet Mr. and Mrs. Claus and enjoyed a sweet candy cane treat 🍬😁 What a festive way to spread holiday cheer at PES! 🧡🖤

Middle school students got into the holiday spirit today during our Reindeer Games! 🎄🦌
Events included Frosty the Snowman (toilet paper wrapping), scooter races with fuzzy socks, Blindfold Bow Race (scooping bows blindfolded), Reindeer Ring Toss, Musical Chairs, and a fan-favorite Best Dressed contest. Lots of laughs, teamwork, and festive fun made for a great day! 🧡🖤
High School Snowball Smash wrapped up this afternoon with an exciting final round featuring the top four teams! When play ended, the top two teams finished strong and placed in the money. 💰❄️
