In STEAM and Library, our students are exploring the four components of creativity: Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, and Elaboration through Finish the Picture activities with Mrs. Meyers and Ms. Lehenbauer.
👏 Congratulations to this month’s Creativity Challenge Winners! Their masterpieces showed off all four creativity skills in action.
🌟 Be sure to check out our Creativity Wall of Fame—a school-wide display that highlights one student’s work from each grade level and a staff member every month. We look forward to seeing next month’s imaginative creations!

Students explored how plants reproduce and how seeds spread in different ways 🌬️🌿 Through hands-on learning and a Samara Leaf Challenge (helicopter seeds to us non-scientists 😄), Panthers put engineering, creativity, and critical thinking to the test. After developing their blueprint, students used provided materials to replicate a Samara Leaf and tested their creations by measuring how long they took to fall to the ground and how far they traveled from the base.
Science is not just something you read about… it is something you do! 💡👏

This past weekend marked the opening of the 52nd Annual High School Art Competition at the Quincy Art Center in Quincy, IL—and our students shined!
Three students submitted artwork from the past semester, competing against schools from 20 counties across Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois. From one of the largest pools of submissions Mr. Walker has seen, each student had at least one piece accepted—an incredible accomplishment!
👏 Accepted Works:
✏️ Audrey – Self Portrait in Graphite
🖌️ Ericka – Still Life in Acrylics
🖌️ Ian – Still Life in Acrylics
🌟 We are especially excited to share that Audrey earned multiple awards for her self-portrait, including:
🏆 Best of Show
🏆 Culver-Stockton College Art Prowess Award
🏆 University of Illinois Art Award (including a $1,000 summer workshop invitation to campus!)
The exhibit is open to the public Tuesday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. and is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate high school arts in our region. 🖼️
