It is an exciting time of year as our high school students begin working on their schedules for next year! If you were not able to attend Academic Planning Night, no worries—resources are available on the high school website under the Counseling Department tab.
📌 In the coming weeks, Ms. Hopke and Mrs. Jones will be visiting classes and meeting individually with students to discuss course plans and answer questions.

The Tony Lenzini basketball tournament will begin Monday night, with the first game at 4:30 pm, and the crowning will take place during halftime of the 6 pm game.

Ms. Emmite and her students took learning beyond the classroom with a walk around town to explore how trash sometimes ends up in our local waterways. 🌧️🌎 They began by creating a topographic map and spraying water to simulate rainfall, allowing students to observe how trash travels through the landscape and into waterways. At the Palmyra Chamber of Commerce awards banquet last night, our middle school teacher, Alysha Barnett, was named Educator of the Year 🍎🏆. Mrs. Barnett joined Palmyra R-1 in 1999 and has touched countless lives through her dedication to teaching, coaching, and sponsoring student organizations. Congratulations, Mrs. Barnett—this honor is well deserved! 🧡🖤
In addition, the Palmyra R-1 School District was honored with the Paintbrush Award for the improvements made in 2025 to all three school buildings. 🏫🖌️ 🎨
