School Librarian Day is observed internationally on April 4. The day is observed to recognize the professionals who keep school libraries well-stocked and the books in perfect order. School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized and engaging our students.
Thank you for all you do Mrs. Conrad, Ms. Reynolds and Ms. Lehenbauer!

April 5 - 11, 2025 has been designated "Week of the Young Child" where we celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers and families. Palmyra R-1 recognizes the importance of early childhood education and the needs of young children and their families.
Our Parents As Teachers and Early Childhood programs work to prepare young Panthers for their entry into school. It takes a village and we are fortunate to have a strong community of early childcare providers and educators.
Take time next week to enjoy the Week of the Young Child artwork that will be displayed around town and also to say thank you to the early educators in your life!

Mrs. Manzke's 7th grade reading class finished a book in which the characters were stranded on a deserted island and survived on what they could find. This led the kids to see if they could crack open a coconut! They were able to sample the coconut water and eat the meat of the coconut.

NEMOPressbox.com held their 2025 NEMO Pressbox Stars basketball banquet last night and we are very happy to announce 3 Palmyra Panthers were named to the team! Congrats Sydney, Mason and Clare!

Integrated Science class has been working on marble roller coasters and tested out their finished products. The coasters were made of paper and had to contain 4 design elements (curves, drops, funnels, tunnels, loops and steps). The goal was to keep the marble in motion for 10 seconds from start to finish, but 6 seconds was the record for this class. Great designs and lots of learning with this lesson!

First Grade Open House was out of this world! 🌎

What a great day at PES! The Science Fair was held today, showcasing the 53 1st-4th grade students that participated! It was a busy morning, full of experimentation and learning.
Ribbons earned by participants will be presented during the school’s Awards Day in May. A Science Expert for each grade level will also be awarded at that time. Ms. Knoche and Mrs. Gard thank all of those who helped make the Science Fair a success, especially the judges: Kaitlynn McElvain, Ken Zielinski, and Jabin Johnson from BASF.
PES will be open tomorrow during the basketball tournament for public viewing of the Science Fair projects in the cafeteria.
A summary of all projects has been compiled in this YouTube video.
