Kindergarten Academy is in full swing and the little Panthers are having a great time (and so are the big Panthers helping out!)
Members of the Palmyra Missouri FFA chapter were in Washington, DC last week and had the opportunity to meet with US Senator from Missouri, Eric Schmitt at The US Capitol. Thank you to Senator Schmitt and his office for arranging this opportunity for our students.
Our FFA members were able to visit many of the sites in Washington, DC and had a great time in our Nation's Capital!
Next week is KINDERGARTEN ACADEMY week! Kindergarten students will attend from 8 am-3:15 pm!

Construction changes are happening quickly at PHS! The cafeteria project has started and it took no time at all for the kitchen to change! Ms. Knoche's FACS room is almost unrecognizable. The framing has started in the gym and locker room area and new walls are going up!

Congrats to our 8th graders who will be moving up to the high school in the fall. You will be missed at the middle school but know you are ready to soar at the high school! To the 7th graders who will be 8th graders, enjoy your final year at the middle school and it is your time to be leaders!

Mrs. Brass and her HS Biology classes asked the question, how healthy is the soil on the PHS campus?
Biology students set out to determine this by taking on the "Soil Your Undies" challenge twice this school year! They tested the soil during the fall and again in the spring to see if there was a difference. This semester students "planted" a pair of new white cotton undies in the same spot on campus that they "planted" their undies in the fall and let them rest for 7 weeks.
Microbial activity is a fantastic indicator of healthy soil, and when there are microbes present, they will consume the cotton of the undies leaving nothing but a waist-band behind! The students definitely discovered that there are different levels of microbial activity on our campus, and that season certainly plays a role!
Wonder what the soil health looks like in your yard, garden, or field, we encourage you to take on the Soil Your Undies challenge at home!
NOTICE FOR CHILDREN IN PRIVATE/PARENTALLY PLACED SETTING
The consultation with non-public school officials and parentally placed individuals is scheduled for May 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Central Office, Palmyra High School, 1703 South Main, Palmyra, Missouri. The purpose of this meeting is to consult with non-public schools and parents of parentally placed private school students as well as home schooled parents. We will discuss students with disabilities, their needs and location to decide which students will receive services, what services will be provided, and discussions on how and where the services will be provided and evaluated. Also being discussed will be ESEA Funds and the use of these funds as it pertains to the non-public school. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
