Who keeps the coaches, officials and administrators fed and fueled up during tournament week? Carol Buckwalter and Lori Smith! During the day, they can be found feeding our middle schoolers but this week they will be feeding kids by day & adults by night in the Hospitality Room! We want to thank them for their hard work this week and all school year!

FCCLA sponsor, Aron Knoche and two of her students traveled to Macon today for the Region 3 Officer Elections. Maggie was our voting delegate and Paige was elected to serve as the 2025-2026 Region 3 Vice President of Communications for Missouri FCCLA!

With snow piles decreasing visibility, we want to send out a reminder to use caution around school buses! If a school bus has yellow flashing lights, prepare to stop. Red flashing lights? Drivers must stop from both directions!

Palmyra High School and Opaa! are hosting a Law Enforcement Appreciation Breakfast this Friday morning in the PHS Cafeteria starting at 7:30 am. Please join us in thanking our local law enforcement for protecting and serving our school and community!

Please help us welcome Mr. Marty Hull as the Athletic and Transportation Director beginning the 2025-2026 school year. Mr. Hull currently serves as Assistant Principal at Hannibal Middle School and was previously the head boys basketball coach at Hannibal High School for nine years.
Mr. Hull has long term roots in the area, attending and playing basketball at West Pike High School and Quincy University. He received his master’s degree and specialist degree from William Woods University and has lived in Hannibal for the past 20 years.
Mr. Hull began his teaching career in 2000 at Hannibal Middle School serving eight years teaching Science, Reading and Exploratory classes. He began his coaching career in 2001 at Hannibal High School as the assistant varsity basketball coach.
In 2008, Mr. Hull returned to Illinois as the Assistant Principal at Western Elementary and High School and Western High School Athletic Director for three years and then Western Junior High Principal for two years. In 2013, he returned to Missouri teaching 6th grade at Mark Twain Junior High School and then served as the Principal at Center Elementary and Transportation Coordinator for two years before returning to the Hannibal School District as Principal at Eugene Field Elementary and in 2016 as Assistant Principal at Hannibal Middle School.
"Marty will bring a lot of experience, a love for athletics, and the ability to build positive relationships with our students, staff, and community,” said Superintendent Jason Harper. “We are excited to have him as part of the Palmyra team."
Mr. Hull is married to Audra Hull and they have three children: Allie, McKenna and Mason. “Sports has always been at the forefront of our family with my wife and I playing college basketball. Two of our three children also played a college sport. I am very excited about being the next Athletic Director at Palmyra, a community that is very passionate about sports.”

PHS Cheerleaders will be holding their cheer clinic during halftime of the girls basketball game on January 31st. Forms are due this Wednesday and are available in the Elementary and Middle School offices. If you have any questions, please reach out to cheer coach, Makayla Powell.
