This morning, our PHS Panthers welcomed PES students to school and had fun with students in the gym before the morning assembly! 🎉 Thank you to all of our PHS Panthers who lend a helping hand where they are needed, give high fives, shoot some hoops, and put smiles on little Panthers faces!
Thank you to our two PHS football players who took time to read to Mrs. Reis and Mrs. Johnson's 3rd grade classes 📚🏈. These moments make us proud to be one big Panther family! 🧡🖤

The high school was placed on a soft lockdown at approximately 1 pm today. A person was released from the Marion County Jail and was then approached for further questioning at a nearby location. After being approached by police, the person ran causing PHS to go into the soft lockdown from 1:00 pm - 1:20 pm. The person was quickly located and the soft lockdown was lifted. The high school is operating normally again.
If you have Palmyra High School students and your family did not receive text notifications this afternoon regarding this matter, please contact the office to verify your contact information is up to date.
Thank you,
Jason Harper
Superintendent
Thank you Palmyra HS Tennis seniors, for the hard work, leadership, and Panther pride you have shown on and off the court. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and know you have bright futures ahead of you! ✨🧡🖤
Today we celebrate and thank our amazing custodial team who work hard every single day to keep our schools clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and families. 💪🍎
Palmyra High School: Dave, Rachel, and Adam
Palmyra Middle School: Tena and Robyn
Palmyra Elementary: Jim, Ashley, and Emily
Your dedication and care make a difference in the lives of our students and staff, and we are so grateful for each of you! 🧡🖤
Please join us in giving a big THANK YOU to our custodians for their care and commitment to our Panther community! 🐾

Palmyra Elementary students enrolled in the ASP Book Club have been hard at work practicing their read-aloud skills — focusing on expression, confidence, respect, and kindness. Once a month with PES Librarian, Ms. Lehenbauer, they take those stories on the road to Maple Lawn, where they share books (and lots of smiles!) with the residents.
It is a joy to watch the students and residents light up as they connect through reading. The laughter, conversations, and moments they share melt hearts every time. 🧡🖤
We are so proud of our Panthers for showing what it means to learn, grow, and spread kindness beyond the classroom! 🐾

🦋✨ From tiny egg to fluttering wings! ✨🦋
Mrs. Hermsmeier and her Middle School science students have been watching the life cycle of a butterfly up close, and recently celebrated the final step — the butterfly release! 🌱 Egg → 🐛 Caterpillar → 🛑 Chrysalis → 🦋 Butterfly
What an incredible hands-on learning experience watching this transformation unfold, and the class loved setting them free to start their next adventure. 🧡🖤 #PantherPrideInTheClassroom

Palmyra Middle School PACE students and Mrs. Gard took their studies outside! While exploring the creek behind the school, they made real-world connections to their unit on aquatic biomes. 🐟 The highlight of the day was bringing back creek creatures to add to the class aquarium! #PantherPrideInTheClassroom

Mrs. Johnson’s 3rd grade class explored arrays and equal groups today in a creative way — with Play-Doh! Students built and shaped their own examples, turning math into a hands-on, memorable learning experience. 👩🏫✨ #PantherPrideInTheClassroom

We look forward to moving into our new classrooms soon and showing off the finished spaces to everyone! 📚

In STEAM and Library, our students are exploring the four components of creativity: Fluency, Flexibility, Originality, and Elaboration through Finish the Picture activities with Mrs. Meyers and Ms. Lehenbauer.
👏 Congratulations to this month’s Creativity Challenge Winners! Their masterpieces showed off all four creativity skills in action.
🌟 Be sure to check out our Creativity Wall of Fame—a school-wide display that highlights one student’s work from each grade level and a staff member every month. We look forward to seeing next month’s imaginative creations! #PantherPrideInTheClassroom

✨ The Palmyra Middle School Maker Club kicked off the year with a great September meeting! Maker Club is an after-school opportunity for grades 5–8 where students can make, learn, create, explore, and share. ✨
Students had the chance to let their imaginations run wild during Exploratory Month, creating with cardboard and the chomp saw, Perler Beads, 3D pens, Legos, robotics, green screen fun, crafts, and NURCs.
This year, Mrs. Gottman and Mrs. Gard are excited to have 34 students signed up to join the adventure. September was all about free exploration, and we can’t wait to show off more projects as the year goes on! 🎉🔧🤖
